We are pleased to announce that our managing attorney, Tammy Weber, is the recipient of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Excellence in Elder Law award for 2022. The award was presented to her on July 21 at the Bar Association’s Elder Law Institute. The Pennsylvania Bar Association is a nonprofit organization that represents 27,000 Pennsylvania lawyers.

Ms. Weber is managing attorney of Marshall, Parker & Weber, LLC. Her busy law practice represents clients in central and northeastern Pennsylvania from offices in Williamsport, Jersey Shore, and Plains. Her firm provides elder law, estate planning, long-term care planning and estate administration services.

The stated purpose of the Excellence in Elder Law Award is to honor an individual who has made superior efforts in the field of elder law, made significant contributions to the elder law bar, and who has made noteworthy service to the elderly. The following criteria are used in making the award selection:

  • Superior professional efforts in the field of elder law.
  • Significant contributions to the elder law bar, including educational efforts to improve the ability of attorneys to represent clients in elder law matters.
  • Noteworthy service to the elderly.

In addition to representing clients in her law practice, Ms. Weber has been committed to supporting her community and has served in leadership roles at both the state and local level. She is the current President of the  Pennsylvania Association of Elder Law Attorneys (“PAELA”). That organization provides advocacy and education on issues of importance to older adults, people with special needs, and their families.

She is Immediate Past Chair of the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania (“FCFP”), a Trustee for Lycoming College, and Former Chair of the President’s Leadership Council for Lycoming College. She is a member of the Northcentral Pennsylvania Estate Planner’s Council and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (“NAELA”). Weber also serves on the Ethics Advisory Board for Albright LIFE.

Attorney Weber is a Past Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Elder Law Section, Chair of the Lycoming Law Association’s Community Activities and Outreach Committee, and Past President of the Lycoming Law Association. She is a Board-Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation under Authorization of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. The CELA certification requires an in-depth, working knowledge of the complex estate and long-term care issues that seniors can face. She is also a VA Accredited Attorney for the preparation, presentation, and prosecution of claims for Veterans benefits before the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Attorney Weber graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lycoming College in 1983 and received her law degree in 1986 from Temple University. She assumed the role of Managing Attorney of her law firm in 2011.
