Caring for a loved one who has Alzheimer’s, another form of dementia, or a similar diagnosis is a taxing experience. Often, relieving a caregiver for just a short amount of time can make a huge difference in their physical and mental well-being. A new facility in Muncy, Liberty Manor, is providing Adult Day Services for this purpose.

Liberty Manor is run by a larger parent company, Families United Network, Inc., and is open Monday thru Friday, 6:30am until 6:00pm. The facility is dedicated to strengthening families by providing a safe, nurturing, community environment through a continuum of services.

Liberty Manor provides a wide range of services to the participants such as medication administration, rehab services, memory care activities, nursing assessments and a wide range of assistance with daily tasks such as bathing, grooming, and restroom use. Additionally, the facility provides breakfast, lunch, and two snacks, daily. All menus are drafted by a dietitian and prepared, from scratch, by an in house chef.

The facility director is a Registered Nurse and acts as the provider of all nursing services, as well as running the day to day tasks of the facility.  In addition to the director, the facility has full time staff ready and able to assist in all daily needs and activities.

The facility itself consists of a living room, community room, breakfast bar, outside garden with a pergola patio, wheelchair accessible showers and bathrooms, and a medical station. The entire facility is equipped with cameras and a security system.

At this time, the facility costs $85 per day. They accept Private Pay, Long Term Care Insurance, and Veterans’ Benefits. Soon, they will also be accepting Medicaid. Liberty Manor is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging and the Pennsylvania Adult Day Services Association.
