So you’ve gone home, spent time with the family (were they this crazy last year?), eaten too many desserts (gosh they were good), stayed up too late (just 10 more minutes) and maybe had one too many holiday cocktails (I can sleep in tomorrow). Now you’ve resolved to turn over a new leaf for the New Year and get back in shape (new sneakers already ordered); back to that perfect picture of health. But what about mom and dad? Are they a perfect picture of health? Do they have a plan to make sure that they maintain their health in the New Year? Are they able to create a plan alone?
If you think the answer is “no” to any of these questions, I can help. If you noticed that mom or dad has aged over the last year in any way, you may want to consider what can be done to help set them up for success in the New Year. Whether mom and dad are moving more slowly, having more difficulty hearing, are more forgetful, are having trouble keeping up with the house work or attending doctor’s appointments or are just simply worried about having a plan in place for their future, we can help.
We want mom and dad to be safe, healthy, happy and independent and we want you to have peace of mind when it comes to mom and dad and the aging process. That sounds like a lot, and it is, but I assure you that it can be done. By working with someone who specializes in connecting the aging population with resources and services that exist to serve them, you are helping your parents attain the best quality of life.
Rather than having to worry about mom and dad every minute of every day this year, you can start working with someone who visits your parents, determines their needs, coordinates services to meet their needs and keeps them socially active in their community and communicates frequently with you.
